“The Good Wife”

The Good Wife       Dynamite episode of “The Good Wife” last night on TV!  The show has really stepped it up a notch lately, and this episode was non-stop action, twists and turns. Alicia and Cary have left the firm, and the war is on!  I can’t wait for next week to see how it’s all going to shake out.

I Am Catelyn

I took the Game of Thrones Personality Quiz on BuddyTV.com, and I am Catelyn Stark!.

Can’t wait for tonight’s show!

The Good Wife on CBS

Great episode of  The Good Wife Tuesday night on CBS!  I think this is one of the finest shows that’s on TV currently – always interesting and well-done.  I find myself hanging on every word – that’s how absorbing I think the story is.  And you need to pay attention to the dialogue to catch all the nuances.

Not sure if this show qualifies as a true “mystery”;  I suppose you could say it’s a “legal procedural/drama”.  But I love the show, and it’s my blog after all :).   If you have not seen this series, please give it a try and let me know how you like it.   You can watch full episodes on the web at:

Body of Proof on ABC TV

ABC has a new crime series coming next month which could prove interesting.  Body of Proof stars Dana Delany as Dr. Megan Hunt, a brilliant neurosurgeon whose career in the operating room is cut short by a terrible car accident.   Megan then decides to restart her career by becoming a medical examiner who is determined to solve the mysteries of how the victims on her table died.

This is an all too familiar premise, but Ms. Delany is a superb actress, and her performance could make this show a keeper.  The series premieres March 29th at 10:00 P.M. Eastern on ABC.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior

Fine start last night to this new spinoff crime drama starring Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garofalo, and Michael Kelly, with Kirsten Vangsness in a crossover role as computer whiz Penelope Garcia.

The mood and tone for this series is decidedly different than that of the original series, Criminal Minds.   The cast of the original series relate to each other onscreen in a much more formal and reserved way than does the Suspect Behavior cast.  Even the photography in the original is usually crisp and sharp, and you are always conscious of the fact that this is a workplace setting, with a strict hierarchy.  The characters care for each other, but the feelings are always just below the surface.

In contrast, in Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior , the group seems to be much more emotional and informal in their behavior and interactions with each other, and they show their affection by hugging and clowning around in one scene.   I don’t ever remember seeing that show of cameraderie in the original.  I could be wrong, but it even appeared that a lot of the scenes were shot with a diffuser lens, to give a different, softer feel to the production.

But the story was interesting and well-done, though somewhat predictable, and it was overall a very good effort.  Your comments are welcome, of course, pro or con.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior premieres on CBS

Tonight is the premiere of the new spinoff from the CBS crime show, Criminal Minds.   Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, starring Forest Whitaker, airs at 10:00 P.M. Eastern Time, right after Criminal Minds.  I will certainly be tuning in for this one.

Rizzoli & Isles on TNT

For all you Rizzoli & Isles fans, TNT has begun showing reruns of last season’s episodes at 10:00 and 11:00 P.M. Mondays.

This series, starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander as Detective Jane Rizzoli and Dr. Maura Isles, is based on the book series by Tess Gerritsen.  I have not yet read anything by this author, but she is on my list.  (So many books, so little time).

If anyone has read the books and would like to comment on their translation to TV, I would love to hear from you.  Which is better- the book or the TV show?

You can also watch full episodes of Rizzoli & Isles online.  The new season will begin in the summer Mondays at 10:00 P.M.
